CURRICULUM

Earth’s Angels uses lesson plans that I have designed based on Creative Curriculum and the personal developmental goals of each individual child. Lesson Plans are done on a monthly basis to include various themes to ensure hands-on learning experiences for your child through all developmental aspects. All of our lesson plans include basic preparations for Pre-K.

Daily Schedule

Although I encourage children to explore many different activities at their own speed, to develop their curiosity and creativity, I strongly believe that by encouraging the structure of a schedule, children become more comfortable and confident and experience a stronger sense of control when they can predict what comes next. Our day begins at 7:00am and ends at the departure of the last child. I encourage every child to participate in all activities, however no child will be demanded to participate in every activity. Friday: Free Friday (Show & Tell)

Activities

Look forward to your child having a fun filled day here at Earth’s Angels! We will offer monthly age appropriate activities at no extra cost to the parents. Here every experience is a fun, learning experience for your child. Our activities begin at 8:30 am every morning; therefore we encourage all parents to have children at the daycare home prior to the start of morning activities. Bringing children during activities interrupts the other children and usually throws off routine.

Outdoor Activities
We will spend a few hours outdoors on a daily basis. Please dress your child in appropriate attire for playing outside. During extremely hot or cold days, outdoor time will be reduced accordingly. In the case of inclement weather conditions, we will find alternate activities to do indoors.

Television
T.V time is limited to 1 hour per day; this includes the educational videos viewed before both lunch and dinner. Parent’s on the days that the children are allowed to bring in their favorite cartoon or video, please be sure your child’s selection has no explicit content, all movies and cartoons must be rated G.

Take Home Family Activities
Children will have monthly homework projects. These projects are family activities and are designed to be done together. Each project will be based on the theme of that month. Please give full cooperation with these projects and return it to class by the due date.

Field Trips, Parties, and Other Special Events

Occasionally we try to set aside scheduled learning activities and do something really fun! We try to take one field trip yearly, however we are not equipped with the right vehicle to transport the number of children and car seats required by the state. Therefore we must rely on the parents’ cooperation to plan outside activities. The following is a list of activities and/or celebrations Earth’s Angels will take part in throughout the year.

June - Doughnuts 4 Dad & Graduation/Award Ceremony

November - Parent Appreciation Day
December - Holiday Gift & Cookie Exchange

Picture Day will be held in Spring, Fall, and for Pre-K Graduation. We will also celebrate Birthdays monthly by offering children cupcakes and ice cream. Parents will receive more information on each event as the month of the event approaches.

Quarterly Family Night Out will be held in March, June, September, and December. We will also celebrate Birthdays monthly by offering children cupcakes and ice cream. Parents will receive more information on each event as the month of the event approaches.
